What’s your idea for the cost of this renovation? Tell us in the comments below.

This house renovation of Ms Christine Año, a 23-year-old medical technologist, cost her only PHP 15,000. She was inspired to go for a renovation after watching YouTube videos of home stylists Gila Salvador and Elle Uy.

What’s interesting about this house renovation is that Ms Christine adjusted the theme to match their existing furniture. She plays and centers the design around what they have already which is one of many takeaways from this small space renovation.

She only needed to repaint the walls. “Since the color of our floor tiles is green and we owned black furniture, I decided to stick to a motif of black, green, and white with some plant accents,” she explains in the magazine interview.

Here’s the breakdown of the renovation:

Php3,000 for paint and other materials

Php2,000 for the curtains

Php3,000 for the home décor and accessories

Php1,000 for the display rack

Php4,000 for items purchased online

Php1,000 for DIY frames

Php 800 for DIY shelves

Transforming an old house into a bright, dreamy home

Originally appeared on smartparenting.com.ph

It took a couple of years for Dancyl Lumbab Nalzaro and husband Aaron Nalzarobefore they were finally able to have enough money to renovate an old house. A property that was gifted to them by Dancyl’s parents.

The total cost for this house renovation is PHP 350,000. Yes, that’s higher than the first two renovations presented here. But, to consider that the couple transformed 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, the living space, dining and kitchen areas, as well as the back area of the house, we believe 350K is way cheaper.

Planning to do a makeover for your home?

Here’s Dancy tips:

1. Source locally.

2. Be involved in the project and do your research.

3. Ask suppliers for brochures and if they have online delivery.(we know a hardware that offers online delivery - https://topmosthardware.ph/

4. Upcycle.
